How to get people to do what you want them to do (and leave you alone)
Can you really write emails for work that get read and acted on the first time? When professionals use standard corporate jargon, their messages get ignored. They have unpaid invoices, unanswered questions, and angry customers. The professionals I've trained now write emails that get answered and acted on, thanks to these strategies! You can write less and have more time to do the work you love with these email techniques. Workshops are scheduled 10:30am MT-12pm MT on January 12, May 15, and September 17. Writing habits for professionals who have better things to do
Most professionals take too long writing messages that don't get the desired response. Stronger writing habits make everything easier: quicker drafts, clearer messages, and fewer “wait, what?” replies. In this workshop you’ll learn the questions to ask before drafting, how to get words out, and how to revise once they're there. These habits save time, reduce confusion, and give you confidence—without making you a professional writer. Workshops are scheduled 10:30am MT-12pm MT on February 10, June 15, and October 23. Treat the bot like an intern: writing with AI tools
AI is supposed to save time but with writing, professionals might find they ask for a revision and get a rewrite, or get a "polished" draft of nonsense. Then they spend hours fixing it. Or send it out as is. The problem is that AI is a tool. It doesn’t know what you meant. It just mimics writing and makes it grammatically correct. This workshop shows you how to use AI tools with your human skills so you get useful output you can edit. Workshops are scheduled 10:30am MT-12pm MT on March 11, July 21, and November 9. Writing that works on humans: clear, concise, and actually nice
Most workplace confusion starts with language: A few extra words or too few and suddenly your reader isn’t sure what you want or why you emailed them. Concise writing is easy to read. Clear writing is easy to act on. And nice writing ensures people want to work with you. This workshop focuses on sentence-level strategies that help you write messages people understand, and act on, the first time. Workshops are scheduled 10:30am MT-12pm MT on April 16, August 19, and December 10. (Note: the date on the registration page is the date we created the event)
